Waterjet cutting is an erosion process using a high pressure jet of water 0.6mm in diameter. Abrasive is fed into the water stream and self pierces for holes and internal cut-outs. Abrasive waterjet cutting cuts just about any material from plastic to hard tool steel. We are able to offer high production flexibility, so are pleased to accept single item, prototype cutting and repeat small batches. Tolerance +/-0.127mm. Variable cut finishes. Up to 100mm thick can be cut. Maximum part size up to 2.5m x1.4m . No heat generated during the cutting process so no hardening or distortion in the material. Secal Laser has snowballed from employing just two staff at small rented premises when it launched in 2001 to a firm with an estimated turnover of 4.8 million in 2005/6 and 38 staff. The success of the firm has led to a further investment of just under 400,000 in a new state-of-the-art laser cutting system and a three metre press braking system at new premises in Halesfield 5, Telford, Shropshire. This brings the total investment in equipment during Secal Laser's 5 years trading to just over 1.5 million. The 16,000 square feet premises with its 38 staff and state of the art equipment is a far cry from the factory of 4,000 square feet where Secal Laser started life with just one cutting machine. Its tremendous progress in the last 5 years is testament to the quality and high standards that operate at Secal Laser.
